Beyond the dreams
By 林懿娟
I feel something crazy in my heart. I want to do something different. I want to be different in this world. That’s the main reason why I join with you guys, Fujian Volunteer Club. All of us, with diversity backgrounds, different occupations and different life experiences, have the same goal. That is we desire to sacrifice our time and efforts to teach some kids who lives in a very small town which is located in Tibet. We want to become important and influential persons in those kids’ hearts. Teach them what we know and introduce what we have seen in our life periods to them. The most important thing is to help them realize their dreams and teach them how to make those dreams come true.
On June 27th, it took us 48 hours from Shanghai to Lasa by train. It seemed a long trip while we had a good time talking with each other. And the amazing scenery along the railway caught our eyes. After one night in Lasa, we took a bus to our destination, Lang town. I think nobody would consider it was a easy task when he had to stay on the bus for nearly 14 hours. Meanwhile we had to try to overcome headache and other pains from the normal body reaction because of acute high altitude reaction. I feel so proud that we made it successfully when we suffered these pain and finally arrived Lang town where is hugged by the high mountains.
What I mentioned above is just the basic difficulties that we had to face. Besides, Lang town is an area having few entertainment equipments. Sometimes there are not enough water and electronic to support the modern lifestyles. While staring at those smiles of kids, I begin to realize these difficulties don't count too much for us. We hope the dreams in these kids’ hearts would like seeds, and they would become most beautiful blossomed flowers in this world.
